Yes you do. The channels are turned off at the end of you notice period. I have just been through the same deal. You should get a letter sent out telling you the turn off date.
  • thanks i will go and cancel now kids will be happy they have sky for another month
  • Cancelling Sky can certainly be a good way to save money each month. After the 30 days you may find you still have most freeview channels available from that same card (E4, more4, etc) so don't rush out and buy a freeview or freesat box just yet! Sky say 'they'll be knocked off the card' in time, but some last for months, and sometimes just resetting the box & cleaning the card can bring those channels back - why not wait until then?
At that point you can buy a freesat-only card from Sky for a one-off payment of £20 - often less than 1 month's subscription - but try option 1 first - it's free after all! :rotfl:

When you cancel your sub your card automatically becomes a "freesat from sky" card so you do not need to spend £20 on anything. E4 and More4 are broadcast free anyway

How much are you currently paying?

If you phone and tell them you are THINKING of cancelling because of the credit crunch etc they may offer you a better deal.

I was paying £40 a month and when I phoned they offered me the same package for £25.

I still cancelled though as it's still a waste of money, but for some people it may be worth it.
  • I cancelled a year ago and that was of the best moneysaving decisions i have ever made.
You can't keep a good man down...
