Internet Explorer 8

I might get slated for this due to the high numbers of microsoft haters and firefox/opera/chrome/etc lovers these days....but for anyone who cant drag themselves away from MS Internet Explorer then your in luck!

Today i recieved an email informing me IE8 is out of beta now and in public release (which apparently means theyve ironed all the bugs out lol).

Anyways, link is below, just select United Kingdom, then either XP, Vista, or Server edition (whichever your using).

Hope this helps at least one of you lol!

BTW after install and restart all looks good!

I just hoping as a webdesigner it doesnt bring more headaches with website compatiblity issues although it does have a setting during install so the browser acts like an older version to smooth issues out or summat!

I had I.E 8, And personaly, for many things, it worked really well, but for other things: my music for example, it just was not compatable.

If you do find you have a problem, just uninstall it via the control panel of your computer, it will just revert back to I.E 7 and problem solved.

  • Its not bad but when compared to opera or chrome or the firefox 3.1 beta it is very sloowww.

Doesn't offer anything the others dont already do better, will stick with firefox or chrome for the moment.

    Winner: Firefox, just
So have the new builds of IE8 and Chrome changed our minds about our favourite browser? Not really. Chrome narrowly pips Safari for the fastest browser crown, but Firefox's add-ons still do it for us: while there's a clear difference in performance when you run the benchmarks, on a reasonably specified PC all four browsers run perfectly quickly. It's a different story on netbooks, though, where Chrome is noticeably faster than IE or Firefox.
If add-ons matter, Firefox is still our pick for desktop browsing; if you prefer speed and simplicity, have a netbook or can be bothered installing an ad-blocking proxy then Chrome is the one to try.
