  • Write to the water board to confirm what was said to you about cancelling the direct debit. They can just as easily play dumb and say that they didnt.
If your clear with this debt now is the time to get the water meter in.

wil do, it was a new house when we baught it so it has a meter already
  • Hi there.

have you thouht about getting a lodger under the rent a room scheme? Take a look at http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/Taxes/TaxOnPropertyAndRentalIncome/DG_4017804

Obviously, take care and get character and employment references from people who apply for the room. It could work well for you and help with your bills. Good luck.

Funny u should mention a lodger, I had 1 over xmas and I had 2 throw him out as he was a pain and ended up damaing the property and ran up at £50 phone bill (which ended up paying) calling mobiles from the landline. He seemed a good character when I interviewed him

    Hiya

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time of it. Well done for biting the bullet and trying hard to get things sorted out.

One thing I noticed from your SOA - you haven't alloted anything for travel of any kind. Are you able to walk everywhere (if so, great obviously!)? Also, do you really need a landline at home if you're also paying for a mobile? Might be a cost you can free up (especially if you don't need it for broadband etc).

I've literally just discovered ebay selling. Having thought I had b*gger all that anyone else would want, once I started looking I've actually got a ton of [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] treasure to flog. Might be worth you having a scout round and see if there's a few extra quid you could bring in that way?

Keep posting and let us know how you're getting on.
