the life insurance is incredibly high. At there ages with a decent term insurance covering them both for the duration of the mortgage I would expect less tha £20 plus cashback. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

I thought it sounded huge but I don't have any insurance at the mo so I don't know how much they are0

Childcare/nursery....................... 150 ?? No children listed?
Can you tell us what this is please? Is her OH paying maintenance for children from a previous relationship?0 -
150 is maintenance for his children. He had a pay cut in January so that his section could be kept open, i don't know if the 150 is calculated by the CSA or if it's been recalculated since the pay cut or if I should even mention this as £75 doesn't go far with a child!
The life assurance was created when she switched mortgage in September and she has said she can't cancel it as she will then have to pay the mortgage broker something, I've asked for key facts docs to find out how long she is tied in for as I'd say cancel for the tie being until they can afford it.
She has just remembered she has an ISA somewhere that is to be used in October to pay off the outstanding £500 for her settee ( i think that is all that is outstanding) But she doesn't know what is in it.
She has lots of PPI so I'm going to look at reclaiming them or explaining to her the process so she can get on with them when I head back to work tomorrow.
Can anyone tell me if itis cheaper to get a DD for gas/elecs, I thought it was and do the providers change the DD if they need to or do they let you know?
I think she has had a LMB but her partner hasn't, I offered to go over to hers tonight to get the mortgage docs as I have lots to do tomorrow and I can't as her partner doesn't know I'm going through things for them. I also think that the outgoings are a bit higher than she's said.
Will get her to help me with my errands tomorrow and will try and work out how many savings accounts and debts she has.
On a good note, she was asked to temp for 3 days this week and they are keeping her on next week too!
Thaks for all your help0 -
You can but try.
As a rule, the cheapest utility deals are joint fuel paid by DD, in theory.
in practice a lot of these companies set their DD rate very high so that the DD is much higher than is needed to cover the annual cost.
In fact, given what I experienced and what I found with DM's accounts, i stopped using monthly DDs. The basic calculation used the last quarter's bill, plus the last year's and averaged that out over 12 months based on estimates. When I read the meters and kicked butt, the DDs reduced by 30% AND I got £120 back as credit to her bank account.
Regarding my own accounts, I find every spring and summer that they over estimate the bill and get it roughly right for the winter quarter. about to challenge the leccie bill again. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thank you for that, I'l try and find out some more info on her providers/bills tomorrow0

When I was busy - sorting out DM - i failed to sort my own accounts and when i did got two quarters "free" leccie before I had to pay any more.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Bonus! We're not paying any bills at the moment because of the job we do. I think there will be council tax and i can't really dispute that, unfortunately0

Right, I have a plan.
I am going to right everything down that she needs to do/look at as I won't be able to help her out when I go back tomorrow and i think if she has it in front of her then she can refer back to it. There's no point me looking at car insurance for her as it doesn't mean anything to me and she can work out herself what accounts she has.
I'll give her links for here and tell here how wonderful and helpful you all are, thanks0
