Bloody Loan rip offs
I'm currently searching around for a loan of £12000. I have £6009 to pay off on an existing loan so will be using part of the new loan to pay this off and the rest to put towards a new car. So far, all the rates I have been quoted are nonsense:
Nationwide: 7.9% typical
Offered 13.8%
Halifax 8.1% typical
Offered 11.9%
Halifax Online 8.1% typical
Offered 11.5%
I have been provisionally offered 7.8% by the Co-Op online, but need to wait for final confirmation. I am expecting this one to go up as well.
the loan is a joint application and both myself and my wife are in very good stable jobs and in the past have got the best interest rates for personal loans. Nothing has happened to alter our credit rating and we have 3 credit cards with no outstanding balance on them.
Is everybody in this position regarding personal loan rates or is it just me?

Your credit score may not be as good as you think or the lenders concerned have a higher level of internal score card and you dont meet the criteria.0
