    Hello :hello:

Another newbie here. I have spent the last three weekends spending hours on this website. I can't believe there are so many people out there who try their hardest to save their money. So many of my friends think I am mad :)

I thought I would join the PMS challenge. I like the idea that it is 'virtual' money and it is a way of keeping track of savings. It will be really motivating as often I save, but don't keep a record.

Here is my first stab at keeping track:

Sainsburys - 1 pint SS milk reduced from 32p to 16p. Bought 5 bottles, now wish I had bought the lot!

March PMS: £0.80 Not much :o but it is a start.
    Previous debt: £14K :embarasse Debt free: Sept '03 :DMFW#42 Mortgage OP savings £4271.18/£12000 2019 :)Started dating OH Mar '12, married Oct '12, Walnut born Dec ' 12 :A SPC 12: 99 £38.05/£500 Make money Jan: £412.34/£310 :T Feb: £88.79/£280 May: £215.52/£310 June: £18.98/£300
  • I've been lurking and following the threads for aages, so I'm going to jump right in! This month has been fantastic as I've been ruthless and sold lots of things (including precious shoes) on ebay... so my actual money made has been nearly £100! (I will work it out exactly later....)
I also bought two beautiful skirts in a little hippy shop when I was visiting the Shakespeare library in Stratford - bad as its money I didn't intend to spend, but they were £5 each reduced from £20+ each, and they'll be great for the summer - so virtual saving £30.
Also bought Original Source Rose shampoo from pound shop - don't need it yet but I usually buy from boots or lush so VS - at least £1.50
Wow - saving is so much more fun than spending!! :T
Returning MoneySaver, now furiously saving for a house deposit...

VS today £16.75 by stapling a new cover on to a worn out computer chair instead of going and buying a new one :)
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    F U Fund currently at £250
  • Came home tonight to find I had won £5 in a local charity lottery. It's not money I earned or expected so adding it to my PMS.
Books - the original virtual reality.

omega - all those bits soon add up don't they :D :T :T :T Great work!

MushyPeas - :hello: Welcome :D (Love your username!)
:T 80p is definately not to be sniffed at! It's a start and it will be even more encouraging as you watch it grow ;)

    MoneySavingSapphire - :hello: Welcome :D I agree, you've had a fantastic month :T :T :T
Yes, saving *can* be more fun than spending - it can become quite addictive in it's own way too ;) :rotfl:

    moggins - WTG :T :T

savingpennies - congratulations on your win :j :j By saving it, you'll win "twice" because it will earn interest too :D

Popped into Matalan last Monday to get some small lunchbox tubs and saw they had a clearance stand. Fortunately, not much tempted me *but* I did notice some gift ribbon on sale - 5m luxury ribbon £2 down to 25p :j
I bought all that were on the shelf :o

    10 x £2.00 = £20
    10 @ 25p = £2.50
    Saving: £17.50

£17.50 now needs to be transferred out of the Gift A/c into PMS :j :j :j

    Hi Queenie

Thanks for your welcome, hello again back :hello:

Not sure how well I am doing with the pin money at the moment, but I'll keep trying. To read other people's attempts is inspirational!

Surpassed my target this month thanks to cancelling some unused subscriptions and getting refunds and of course some eBay/Amazon sales.
In the end transferred £300 into savings as we had some left over in the account on payday! :j
