Website ideas

I bought a domain name a few years ago planning to start some sort of on line business, however, I got pregant and forgot all about it. I have just had a reminder from 123.reg that my domain name was about to expire whch got me thinking.....

What can I do to make some extra money on my own website, is there something I can sell or advertise or do?

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved.

Web address and any areas of expertise might be usefull!
I mean, you could sell bespoke customer profiling packages from your site if you are a software developer, but if your a gardener it might not work!
Seriously though, you are going to need a more structured business plan the buy domain name, make money.
What are your interests? What did you have in mind when your bough the domain?

Thanks for tking the time to reply.

I am not really sure about what i wanted to do with it.... I know I am not supposed to say the name of the website but it is kind of like a glam houswife name.

I am a working mother with two kids and really don't have ny partcular areas of expertise. I know that this is really vague, I had completely forgotton about this and was just looking for some ideas.

If I decide to go ahead with anything I will ensure that I complete a full business plan.

No prob, sorry if i came accross a bit rude, your post was very vague though!
As for making any money from the site, the first thing you need to get is visitors.
Think about what type of sites you like to visit, could you make something simular? Maybe a blog, does anything unusual happen in your daily life? If you can write interesting original content for your site, you can make money though advertising, affiliates and many other options. Even if you have little technical knowledge, content really is key, with server software like wordpress making simple sites very easy to build.
Think about it, and remember to post your ideas, MSE is great for some free market research!

Could the domain name itself be valuable? It's hard to guage what is valuable or not but if it's nothing too personal you could sell that in itself. PM me you want with the domain name.

Have a look at sedo.com who sell domain name, set your price and see if anyone bites.

You could also "park" the domain in the meantime with Sedo who basically display ads on it for as long as you want. if anyone clicks on the ad you get part of the "reward".
