The jobis mine, told me they won't be interviewing anyone else but don't know when I can start:confused:,
He's got to convinse the rest of the board that they need someone sooner rather than later:rolleyes:

Hi Numpt - that is good news, mate. :T :T

I am in a very similar position in that I went for an interview six weeks ago  and was told very much the same thing. In my case, their are five directors - the Company has never had a dedicated 'Sales' function and I would have been responsible for that role - At the interview I met two of the five directors and both were happy for me to join the Company, subject to agreement by the other directors. So far four of the five directors are fully agreed on the need to employ me - the fifth is 'the problem' - he thinks that a 'Sales Function' is totally unnecessary and a 'waste of money'.
Whilst I could have taken the job on a 4 to 1 majority basis, I would be very unhappy to work in a Company where even one of the Directors resents my presence.
I am still in contact with the other directors, who are all trying their best to convince the fifth director that the company can not survive solely on its laurels and that it needs to be dragged into the twenty-first century.
So it's not lost, but in the meantime I'm still driving my little ASDA van. :o:o

But don't let my experiences put you off - I'm sure everything will go well for you.

It's not quite that simple, Numpt - he is the founding member of the company and probably the largest shareholder. He still thinks that the business will survive on its own 'merit' even though the other directors openly admit that sales are 'grim' and that his attitude could be detrimental to the necessary growth of the company. In a way I understand him - it is difficult to know when to 'let go' and rely on others.
The 'offer' is, unfortunately, conditional upon the agreement of all five directors.
