Get Sky Repaired For Free

Contacted Sky today as ours is playing up!!
They said it would cost £65 to send out an engineer,told them politely that we couldnt afford this,they then said they could reduce it to £32,again said no thanks(can buy freeview box for that)
She then put us on hold and came back with offer of free repair and parts if needed.
How could we refuse!!!

worth remembering that thanks! Fed up of not getting any good deals with them after being a 'loyal' customer for so many years now! Only keep ours for Living tv........cant do without my Most Haunted!!! lol

I did this too, and got free install when I moved house

If they ask you to pay, just go through to the cancellations department. They will usually do it for free

Same thing happened to us. Mind you in my opinion our Sky + box should have lasted longer than 18 mths anyway.

just wondering what sky package u guys subscribe to.. am on the £22 package .. wondering if they will offer me the free repair even thou am not on the top £40+ packages .. many thanks

am pretty sure they will. As thespacecowboy said, worse case go via the cancellations department. We did that last year after a storm, the nice lady sent someone out and gave us a 3 month warranty as well!

The cancellations department are the only department that can offer you a free of charge service or replacement box, if it is broken.
Therefore if you are being asked to pay the £65 charge by technical dept, state that you wish to cancel because of the cost.
They will pas you to cancellations, repeat why you want to cancel and you should be offered 1/2 price or free repair.
All work is covered by 3 month warranty.
