But my BSocs are still paying me 6.25 - 6.97%, which I don't see as particularly 'risky.' Stuck some more in this morning, in fact. NSI seems bit of a joke, unless you are betting on long term index-link, and the Rock is only paying 2% or something.

what acccounts do you have that are paying over 6%?

Not all mine, technically.....£50k and all that. Coventry 50+, Coventry Poppy Bond, B. Midshires Bonds, are some I can think of, and something with the Principality too. Not all easy access, but we can get at most of them if we really need to.

i read it on internet- council of mortgage lenders has blaming nsi and they also said the new buyers are puting the money to NSI, instead....
I bloody would.. i had no choice, the only mortgage offer for me was a self cert with 25 percent deposit to produce but with 8. something interest and 4600 arrangment fee from the mortgage provider.. simply because my wages are low.
well they want it both ways... get the money from the gowernment with the intent to survive but aswell to help the market and put a slogan on own website '' we are commiting 12 billion for mortgage purposes on 2009'' which is a tiny fraction and even to get a bite of that fraction you need to have come from saudi arabia oil rich or from a dodgy rusian dealer with ties to kgb... in other worlds.. only cSH BUYERS ARE WELCOME ''

No, it's for old 50+ fogeys like me...Actually,I qualify for their Sixty Plus, but at my age, 50+ sounds nicer. I think it's all a bit ageist, but you're only old once.

...And for everything else there's B&Q's Diamond Card.

So there are benefits to age related farsightedness then? But do you need a magnifying glass to read?;)

If I am honest, it is all down to the Saving & Investing Board. Thank you MSE.
