Searched but can't find answer - how to keep bread fresh

Hi,
I have done a full and proper search - honestly I have - but I can't find the answer I'm after! (Searching would be so much easier if we didn't have so many words in our wonderful English language!)
I'm one of those lucky, lucky people with a Panasonic bread machine but I'm trying to cut back on bread which means that loafs aren't disappearing after one day!
The bread is now mainly used for my OH's sandwiches and the crusts go quite hard after day one. I put olive oil into the bread mix and have experimented with keeping the bread wrapped in a clean towel in a plastic bag (airtight) and also in a bag without the towel. Incidentally, I was really surprised how much moisture the towel seems to have collected - it feels almost wet and the bread very dry.
So, if anyone knows of a link to a forum post where this has been described then I'd be mega greatful or if anyone could she any tips then I'd be equally greatful!
Apologies again for posting a message which has been talked about before but I really did struggle getting answers with the search function.
Cheers in advance,
Squee

Hi,
I have done a full and proper search - honestly I have - but I can't find the answer I'm after!
Try this - how to keep HM bread fresh (found using a title search on "fresh bread")
I'll merge the thread later

cheers Penny,
Don't know how the heck missed that one!
Feel free to kill off this post/thread,

Hi squee,
Penny and I read the board every day so we are very familiar with previous threads and have a good idea which key-words to use in titles so I think it makes it easier for us to find what we're looking for, but if you are having difficulty with the search function this thread might help:
I searched but couldn't find anything ( quick search help )
