Car boot sale without a car?

I am moving house soon and have found loads of things I need to get rid of and could make a bit of money back on, eg new clothes with tags on. I can't sell on eBay and thought that anything I don't flog at the car boot sale I'd give to charity. The question is, does anyone know if it's possible to rent a table or something at some of these places? I'm looking for somewhere in Liverpool, preferably a busy one so I have more chance of getting rid of my stuff! I hope this is in the right forum too; wasn't quite sure where to put it.

  • All you need is a pasting table. Ask around your friends, people normally have one in the loft you could borrow

I must admit I didn't read it that the big question was access to a table (I've done a couple of car boot sales and we don't have a table, we just lay an old sheet on the floor and set out the stuff on there)... I read it that she wanted a place where you don't need a car.

I'm sure you can do a car boot sale without a car, but surely you'd need one to transport the stuff there? If you can do that, then I *guess* you could send the car away, but car boot sales do tend to get a bit jam packed, so it might be difficult to get out again.

I was thinking of something like a church hall or school fete where you can rent a space/table for private sales. Are there any adverts in your local free paper for this type of thing?

EDIT: Ignore me, I've re-read the first post and it DOES sound like she means no access to a table. I guess I was confused by the title which said 'without a car'! It doesn't take much to confuse me!

Why not try selling the stuff on sites like gumtree? You don't say why you can't sell on eBay, so not sure if you are able to use any Internet sites. If you can, I'd def recommend gumtree - have bought and sold quite a lot off there.
  • No, I was asking because I do not have a car or access to one, therefore I am looking for a car boot sale where you do not have to have a car in order to be able to sell, and preferably one where you can rent the table as well as the pitch space...

you can pick up a pasting table for less than £10 in b&q probably cheaper in other stores.

how are you going to get the stuff to the car boot - you could get a lift then carry your stuff over to the pitch and set up your pasting table - people don't actually sell out of the boot of a car, do they??? i once saw a guy turn up with all his stuff on a push bike!! folding table and everything!

i usually sit on the boot of my car whilst i am wating for customers!!

most places i have been to in the past are in an empty field / carpark - you have to brng any tables yourself.

Do you have space at home for a garage sale? No transport required but you need to do your own publicity.
