Because the point of a BB like this is that people type quick responses. You should no more correct grammar on a BB than when using the spoken word.
It's also a really lame way to put someone down.
We'll agree to disagree on the first point.
As for the second, lame it may be, but it can also help pass the time of day on occasions!0 -
May we accept Lose and Loose for corrective critcism as it drives a lot of people mad:D I may add that I was corrected by JB on a spelling mistake and I actually learnt something :T
Generally though it is very bad form
I of pet hates (of/have being one (seen it this am, UK time already), the other is punctuating the rising intonation that Aussies use?).
I bite my tongue as if I go after those, someone else can decide that to blatantly go around splitting infinitives is fair reason for abuse.
I use my mother tongue as best I can and it's up to others to do so or not as they see fit. I think that the better you use language, the more respect you command as you use it and the more fun you can have with writing or talking. Not everyone agrees with me but I'm used to that!0 -

deliberate mistake stevie

I was, before, part of the language police. I still have to bite my tongue occasionally...because she who dwells in (non OO) glass houses:o should not be casting stones, but .....ooooh occasionally..few and less must crop up half a dozen times a day. Anyway, I still think that when I can consistantly produce a correct post my time here will be over. :cool:0 -

We all have our pet ones
I agree with the glass houses thing, I don't want them hunting up my mistakes which are probably varied and many

hunting up
More likely down!
The best is always the smart bottom who manages to make a silly typographical* error when pointing out the deficiencies of others.
Less/fewer is annoying to me two. As is two/to/too and there/they're/their.
C'mon, it's not to hard shurely?
*Typographical as opposed to typo used in deference to Mewbie.0
