1 day a week

Ok I've had bad news this week with work telling me they are reducing our hours (to a 4 day week) and our pay is being cut by 20%. Now I get to choose which day I have off in the week. If I was loaded I'd spend the day in the pub but unfortunately I'm not and can't afford to lose 20% (just over £200) of my salary per month.

I now have 4/5 days per month (plus free hours on evenings and weekends if required) to try and make up what I will be losing.

The first thought that came into my head was to just try and find a bar job to make up some of the money, but am willing to put a bit more effort in to try and make up the full amount or even a bit more.

Just looking for a bit of inspiration really, I'm sure there are many people out there in a similar situation.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Arn

I work in and out the office in a mixture of sales/marketing/admin.

I also look after the company website and have thought about doing some basic web stuff but would be difficult to find business.

I've already thought about starting up a similar business to where I work at the mo but don't have the finances to get up and running.

If you are happy working in sales, there are lots of commission only sales contracts available. Be careful you dont do anything in direct competition with your current employers, but otherwise it shouldn't be too hard if you can bite the bullet and  cold call
Just try a google search for commission only jobs in 'your town'. Or even try phoning companies you would like to sell for, and try to negotiate a deal. They will prob be impressed with you making the first move, and in the current climate, someone offering to sell there products with no upfront fee may sound like a good move.
I have recently done something similar, and am just trying to get my head around tax and legislation, but have a commission only contact signed simply by emailing companies whops products i thought i could sell.
    Good luck

    Hi

I just stumbled on your thread. I do body shop parties and on average earn £40 to £80 per party more at Xmas time. I love working for them, they have great incentives and some girls that put in the effort in earn a lot more than I do. The reason I am mentioning it today is that it normally costs £95 to join and you receive a kit valued at £500. But today (19th) in the Body Shop stores they have a joining offer of £25 , I think some of the big ones do late night trading. If you want more info you are welcome to pm me.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

    Cheers

    Monny
