Need a car loan

I wonder if anyone can help. Car has given up the ghost. Unfortunately I believe Iam going to have some problems getting a loan or car finance. Firstly Iam not a home owner , I have rented at for five years at the same property. Secondly Iam disabled. I applied to Lombard direct after seeing their spiel about accepting people on DLA and was declined.

I was told on the denial letter that nothing nasty was found in my credit history but it was my credit score. I recieve 1,000 a month in income from the DWP and the jobcentre and also my rent is fully taken care of.I have no kids and am single. Unfortunately I do not qualify for motability as Iam judged to be mobile enough however my disability does affect my mobility and not having a car is going to make life much more difficult.

ALM have offered me a loan after applying to the jokers that are tennants direct ,I say jokers as the loan was totally different than the example given to me of what they could offer.Oh I know they aren't breaking the law but I will be getting my £50.00 back . I wish I had read this forum before applying.

So any ideas of where I could go? I realise that due to the economic climate now may not be a good time. I do find it odd they have a problem with how I recieve my income as what with the economic climate people are losing their jobs and I doubt everyone is honest about their job security when applying .My money is guaranteed by law.

Does the Motability have anyone that you could contact for a loan? Im sure they have been asked lots in the past so they may know somewhere for you to try.

£1000 a month is an awful lot to live on especially when your rent is paid in addition to this. Cant you save up say £200 for the next two or three months and then spend £400 - £600 on a cheap run around. OK it wont be amazing, but iv never spent more than that and they are perfectly fine. Its nice knowing that i own it to. Not the bank.
    Thinking it over...:o

Update ,my bank HSBC have accepted me for a £6000 loan with repayments of £140,00 over five years.

:T I think I have been quite lucky as lots of banks seem reluctant to lend from what I heard and I seem to be not high on the credit score.Must be because I had a loan with them in the past where I never missed a repayment.
