Can I request a thread to be locked when there's no mod?

As the subject says really, on the local boards I've started a Milton Keynes thread, however it's much more popular than I first thought, so I'd like the power to lock it and start a new one.

Can I request to do this? If so, how?

If you pm Soolin the board guide on the England board she will be able to help you

The Board Guides on each board appear when you view all threads in a board at the bottom of the page - just scroll down and you will see it titled "Board Guides". You can then click on one of their member names, which will show their profile where you can click "Send X a Private Message".
