Timber Frame house Company

Hi all.
I'm just wondering if anyone can help.
I have been thinking of starting a new Timber Frame house company. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice as to how much is needed for the startup and what software system is the best to use? Or just any general advice as to goingit alone.
I work in the construction industry now and think it may be the best time to start a company up in this area, as things are starting to pick up again. Enquiries are coming in and National House Builders are opening up sites again.
