I reckon its another creditor tactic to make you pay up. ie - threaten with court & hope that you pay the balance beforehand.
If you are in a BR position & thats the best route for you can you scrape the money together to do it yourself & end the matter once & for all ???

You are so right, also see what I said in my post to Lensman, very strange. In terms of going BR myself, going to be difficult to raise the funds (although sure I could after sometime) and not sure if I have enought debt to do it!!! Because the stat demand is not there anymore...I only have about 6k otherwise and I think they would make me do an iva or something similar instead!!!! the stat demand was for 29K!!! so there would have been no arguements there!!!!
Oh well will have to wait and see!BR Nov 2009 thinking about the future for the first time in 3 yrs!:j first step to moving on! plus will never ever sign anything for anyone in business ever again!0 -
Thanks Phil and thanks too for all of your advice over the last few weeks...will just have to see what happens next!!!philnicandamy wrote: »Hiya FWAP sorry to hear things went a bit pear shaped....creditors huh? GRR!!!
Hopefully there's an end to it all in the not too distant future for youBR Nov 2009 thinking about the future for the first time in 3 yrs!:j first step to moving on! plus will never ever sign anything for anyone in business ever again!0 -
thanks donna, see my note to angie for a few more details but really not sure what to do for the best now. The ideal would be to get my name off of these 2 guarantees that i signed but no one seems able to help me do this. Solicitors just don't seem bothered (saying that it is v difficult to do) to help but I am sure there must be someone who specialises in that sort of thing! Oh well!!!Hi fwap, sorry to hear that it did not go ahead today - can you maybe try raise the funds to declare yourself bankrupt? Do you think that BR is the best option for you?
Sorry again that things did not go the way that you expected.

(the being petitioned thing is when someone serves a statory demand on you, saying you owe them money, if you don't defend it within a stated time it can then go to a petition which is basically them taking you to court to make you bankrupt over the debt!)BR Nov 2009 thinking about the future for the first time in 3 yrs!:j first step to moving on! plus will never ever sign anything for anyone in business ever again!0
