MIL Collections Debt Collection Letter

Hi guys, my girlfriend has just had a letter from Mil Collections which is saying:
Re:- Retail Loss Prevention / Account No. xxxxxxxxx
Debt Outstanding £0.00
Then the usual bit in between, how can she have an outstanding debt of £0? I was going to write a letter up and send it recorded stating she acknowledges no debt and wants proof of it but it seems a bit silly considering there is no debt there!
Do you think it's a mistake and I should just send out the recorded letter as normal and see what they return with?
She has had CapQuest letters before about an old debt which we were finding out if it was real or not and then they just seemed to stop sending letters. Do you think they have just passed the debt on to someone else?
Many thanks for your replies hoping to sort her debt out once and for all!

Yes, it is a hard one. Didn't want to not reply because I saw you hadn't had any. Hard to know what to do. It's really 'should you write, shouldn't you and if you do will it be acknoledging something'. Have you tried looking up this collections agency, see who they are connected with? Eg Capquest for example trading under another name? Just a thought, don't know if will make any difference but then you might see who is actually sending them? Because some do trade under several names, why I mention it.
Nope, ignore that because I found them here on CSA:

And this may be useful:

Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

Get your girlfriend to phone them and ask what it is about. I believe a phonecall is not proof that you are acknowledging the debt, but I'm not too sure.My Wins: £150 Next giftcard. Thanks for the replies guys, I was thinking along the lines of ignoring this letter as like you say its a debt of £0 but always thought no matter what these things shouldn't be ignored! Maybe I will just leave it and wait for another...
