iPhone insurance - help!

Hi all, I hope you can advise me!

I recently bought an iPhone from O2 and am now regretting agreeing to their offered insurance policy.

The insurance is £10/month (for 18 months). With my home insurance it would have been £40 but I chose this option in the belief that on breaking/losing the moby it would be replaced much more swiftly with the latter.

I bought it on Wednesday February 25th, they finally activated it on the afternoon of Friday February 27, and I managed to crack the screen on Monday March 2nd. I made the claim immediately and was told the iPhones were out of stock in the colour I want but they have been ordered and I'll be sent a new one when they arrive.

I'm still waiting.

I have called numerous times, lengthily argued for some cut on the insurance/phone tariff, only to be offered the removal the £25 excess fee and nothing more.

How do you think I should deal with this in terms of getting a replacement but without continuing this high priced insurance that doesn't pay off?

Ideally I'd cancel on receipt of new moby without having to pay the £50 cancellation fee but I doubt they'd give in to accepting a loss on this...

Thanks

Laura

Maybe its all about calling 02 till you hit the right person, some staff i feel really dont care and some will do there upmost to help, if you fair with them i feel they are fair to, i often tell them to put themselves in my situation, or ask them outright for advice on what i should do, and always leave a phonecall with a next step and not just ending there. 02 will have logged all your calls, have a look in the smallprint on your insurance papers and see if there is anything regarding this matter espesh timescale.

Sorry to Hijack your thread, but i have an iphone, and cracked it (apparently theres a cover that you put on that makes it uncrackacle, i find this out now!) i have no insurance, would i get away with taking up a policy and claiming in a month or so's time? If so any reccomended companys?
