Characaturist has let us down - can anyone recommend one for wedding?

Good Morning,
My partner and I get married in 3 days and we had organised a characaturist to come for 4 hours in Cambridgeshire to our reception.

The guy who was doing it text my OH this morning at 0730hrs saying that he could no longer do it!

Has anyone previously used a characaturist? can anyone recommend one to us? We are so disappointed, this was our 'gift' to our guests and we were looking forward to it.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I can't help but just wanted to say how awful for you and I really hope that you can get someone else sorted quickly.

Don't let it spoil your day, hun!

I was fine until this, I have come to realise that once people have your money they dont care. We have had problems with the suits too. Guy gaveus the wrong colour trousers, then when he gave us the new ones 2 pairs were the wrong size! Considering we ordered 8 suits from him and spent £600 you would think the easy part for him was to provide the right ones, how hard can that be!

Hope your build up is less eventful than ours - beware!

    Enjoy your wedding x

    Hi,

I used a characaturist local to me (North west) last year and he was fab! His drawings were a real likeness but not OTT - he didn't make people look stupid or offend anyone but he really seemed to capture their personality.

I don't know what he would charge for a wedding or even if he would travel to Cambridge but his website is http://www.christophermurphy.co.uk

Its worth a try asking and I would highly recommend his work. Good luck and I hope you find someone :D

How much roughly does a caricaturist charge to do a wedding?

Something I hadn't thought about tbh, would be a nice touch for the day.

  • I'm glad it's all sorted.

Just for reference, here's a good site: http://www.caricature.org which has 550 worldwide members.

I love this guy's work - not your typical 'street' caricature, but very good nevertheless. http://www.caricatureclub.co.uk

He is charging £275, but remember this is out of season and he usually charges £400, he starts at 1830hrs and will stay until people have had enough!
