If you are coeliac or cooking for someone who is, oats are not suitable.

actually that is not technically true, some coeliacs can eat oats without any problem but this should be discussed on an individual basis with their dietitian. The Coeliac UK position on oats in the diet can be found at the following:

    http://www.coeliac.org.uk/healthcare_professionals/dietary_management/1123.asp

If you are a coeliac they include a list of uncontaminated oats suppliers in the Food and Drink directory. If you do not have access to this please let me know and I can type this for you later.

    Hi kaaloo

The ones listed in the 2009 Coeliac UK food and drink directory are:

    Barkat - Organic Porridge Flakes
    Milletti - Longonberry Porridge
Oatmeal of Alford - they sell oatmeal which to me is the same as porridge, they sell fine to rough oatmeal
Puuppolan Aitokaura - 100% Clean Oats
Spoff - Highland Jumbo Porridge Oats; Highland Medium Oatmeal, Highland Porridge Oats and likewise they have an organic range.
Tilquhillie Fine Foods - 100% Oat Flakes; 100% Pure oatmeal

Some larger supermarkets or health food shops may stock these but I know a few of them are sold by online specialist gluten free food suppliers.
