SD card + Holiday

My son works in a service station on the M6 and whilst clearing up one day he came across an SD card, he brought it home and told me I could have it for my camera, when I checked it there were about 250 photos of someones family holiday in what looks like America. What can I do with it? Obviously they could be anywhere in the country in fact the world, but if it was my photos that had got lost I would be devastated but very grateful if someone had tried to get them back to me. Any suggestions?

Is there an information desk in the services? If so you could leave it with them or leave a message for the owner to contact you if they come forward. Has to be said the likelihood of a happy reunion is highly unlikely as they have probably already given up, but it is nice to think there are still some people like you in the world.

It may be worth looking through the photos to see if there is anything that gives a clue to ID. Another longshot may be a networking website, maybe put a photo on there along the lines of are you/do you know this person?

You could hand it into the police but they would be unlikely to be able to assist.

Sorry I can't be more help.

You could also try emailing a popular tv show like This Morning or Paul O'Grady and see if they would maybe show one of the photos to find owner.
  • Good suggestions thanks!! Never thought of networking sites really but they are looked at by loads of people. I think the contacting of This Morning etc is a little over the top but if it got them reunited with their pics thenit would be good. All sorts of things keep going through my mind, it could have been their first holiday abroad or they had saved up for ages, or holiday was for a special occasion, I know I would be devasted as I love my photos. Will keep trying to think of solution but so far the networking thing sounds good. There were some photos at the end that were obviously taken when they got home as there are two litle girls near a market stall but nothing that you could indentify without knowing the area. Thanks again folks.
