Ummm david I would remove that link if I were you since it gives access to all the personal information you have filled in at virgin wines
Maybe a moderator could remove it for david's sake?0 -
IMHO nothing from Virgin Wines is a good buy. Buy from them and they will hound you until the day you die. I bought a few cases from them. There were some good wines - especially the ones that I bought having drunk them in Upper Class on Virgin Atlantic
- and the value was OK.
The real problem is their call centre staff. Don't buy for a couple of months and this very friendly person calls, addressing you by your first name, suggesting that they have the most fantastic wine for you to try. I got suckered in by this once and to be honest the wine he recommended was good and a new discovery for me as I had never considered it before. Fine. But then they kept calling. Eventually I told them to stop and they ignored me. Then they called me again. This was on a day when I was out with my family at the Bath & West show. I was angry and told them not to call me ever again. 50 minutes later I got another call from a droid in their call centre I got really stroppy. Then a couple of hours later yet another Virgin Wines moron called with his similar "Hi Mike I'd lke to tell you about this fantastic wine....". I got so angry that my words can't be repeated - unforgivable really as it wasn't his fault, he was just an employee following a script and calling the number his computer told him to call. Anyway the upshot was a manager from Virgin Wines called me the next day to apologise and I haven't heard a word from them since. But I haven't forgiven them either.
They have good wines at OK value but just be warned about their call centre strategy.

I wouldn't bother with them. I wasn't very impressed the wine I got from Virgin, one bottle was even off.
It was about a year ago I ordered my first and only box from them, and they still keep calling me up.
Sunday Times Wine Club much better!0 -

I'd agree with the comments about going with the Sunday Times.
Girlfriend got a mixed case of wine from virgin wines with the SMile bank account offer (a more expensive case - not the £50 one). Haven't been very impressed with any of them so far.0
