Help - need money quickly really worried

I've posted my SOA and have had some debt management advice from an adviser at my students union so the ongoing debt stuff is beig dealt with but after I've paid my rent this month I will have NO money left and no acces to any. This means that not only do I not pay my creditors etc but the gas and electric go off (I pay on tokens) and I can't afford food.

What should I do? I'm guessing there are no quick ways to get cash or non of us would be here but any advice (or even e-hugs to keep me warm when im on the street) would be appreciated.

I have nothing to sell and cannot take the £100 crisis loan that most unis offer.

  • Okay, forget about paying the creditors. That is the last of your worries right now.

I'm not sure what can be done ... Except, what about the European Social Fund? It's available to people in immediate crisis which could affect their health or words to that effect. It's a short term loan - yes, I know it's a loan but whatever you borrow will be anyway right now but you need money of some kind pronto and this more than constitutes an emergency.

Oh, hell, I've just broken down reading your troubles. Sorry. :(

  • Glad you replied because I was so worried right there, then. Just a silly old person, really, who sees the pain people go through, get upset over it. (((nicky)))

Dont be upset - I am panicking but i have food to tide me over at the moment and my equally skint friend has been given some vodka which he is coming to share with me later. In the past my friend has gone to the local soup run and eaten there. Most towns have one, they tend to do soup, sarnies and hot drinks. Have you done a cupboard inventory? You would be surprised what you can do with the odd contents! Mbaz recently fed her family on just under £27 for the month, its a great read, worth a look!

jenjade - theres a possibility i can go and stop with my Dad in June but until then im a bit stuck for accomodation. I'm definately not owed any favours and don't know many in the position to be helping me out.
I'm certainly making the most of any free food related favours coming my way though.
  • Thanks. No, just I see this daily wherever I am, whatever I see. Which is why I try to help in whatever way I can. I suppose you could say I've reached an age in life where you begin to see how unfair everything is. That things that are should not be. And you wonder how we all reached this point. That sort of thing, now I've got angst. :D Can't help everyone but '2 is better than none'. ;)

But post away, it's better sometimes to share your problems, as you know.
