    Hi Tiggerdog

    Well done for posting.

I suggest you post an SOA http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html which will help you to work out what your income and expenditure is. Once you post this - we can have a look at where your money goes.

It sounds as though you've had a few charges. Have a look at martin's pages about reclaiming bank charges. If there are loads - this will really help.

    good luck

    Hi there!
Well done for posting - you'll get lots of advice here. Have you spoken to the bank or credit card companies? Maybe could you have a payment holiday or something rather than having wacking great charges placed on your account. Or could you open another bank account and work your payments from it and pay off your overdraft with the other bank gradually?
Someone with much better advice will be along shortly!!!!
Once you admit to yourself that there is a problem, although scary, it does get better, I promise you. When you feel more in control of the situation, it really does help.

    Thinking of you

Well, the thing is and this what does annoy me a lot here lately. Someone posts, saying how desperate they are for help then no one ever gets a reply when help is given. So, what's the £150 BTW? What's this from?

Well, like you've said you've apparently looked things up online ... so why have you not heard of CCCS for example? Looking forward to your reply or just 'is this another one post poster?' ;) Don't mean to sound harsh but when people don't reply to the help others provide makes you wonder a little.
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.
  • I want to take control of this myself, ive seen website saying debt free in a day, but not sure about them.
Well, as you said you already live on £150 a month? Ergo, the last thing you want to be doing right now is paying one of these fly by nights what someone like a debt charity could do for you. Yes, CCCS, also has a freephone number. Counsellors also hang out on top of this board above daily for people to ask questions. So, they are pretty much easily contactable either online, by phone or via MSE.

Anyway, I wish you well whatever you choose to do next. What I am also slightly confused with is where you say what you live on per month? Yet have all these cards? Because it's pretty rare for someone to be able to obtain credit in your situation and 'go shopping online'.

So, in other words STOP. Because it will only land in further hot water.

Only person can do that eg 'take control' is yourself. By picking up that phone, and contacting someone like CCCS. No one else can do that for you.

I tried to ccs thing and it said i didnt have enuff money.

I dont know what a SOA is?

    Tigger

An SOA is a STatement of Affairs - it sets out your income and expenditure. Have a look at other threads on this page and you'll what they look like. The link is in my post above.

Take your time to get it right - we can't really offer advice until we see where your money goes.

On another point - I think its great that you want to deal with the debt yourself but having the support of your partner will really make a difference.

You will get a lot of support here if you take it. Have a look at some of the other threads.

do come back tomorrow - if you get this before you go why don't you print off the SOA page so that you can fill in the correct information this evening.

It's great that you are taking responsibility. When you are bailed out it is much harder to learn the lessons that you need to learn.

I'm not sure I'll be online much tomorrow but will look out for your thread tomorrow evening.
