Night night all off to bed Friday is my tough day no work just a lovely 2 1/2 year old and potty training (which has gone down the tubes since an upset stomach!!)

thanks sparky and ktf. took DD to lego land for her second birthday but as her development was quite behind it was like taking a baby and she didnt really enjoy it ( plus it was SOOOOO hot that day, even i felt ill) this year though i think she'd love it especially if BOB was there... ( we have to sing Bob the builder when ever we change her nappy and if someone else does it and doesnt sing its like WW3 breaking out!!)

oh yeah and a Limo to communion??!!:eek: is that normal??? ( please dont be offended by that ive just never heared of a first communion 'party' turning up in a Limo.)

No it's very not normal !!!!!
SIL has to be one up on everyone else though !
The whole thing is driving me doolally
Like I have [strike]ranted[/strike] said before the whole thing is getting WAY out of proportion !!!
Saying that there is one girl who's mum has hired a horse and carriage to get to the Church. The priest is sooooooo not happy about that !

this is to a regular Catholic Church??? this is ur niece / nephews communion??
and a horse and carriage is just Ridiculous.... unless her name is Barbie ??? when i was little i remember pretending that my barbies were going to a dedication ( am from non denominational Christian background so it was dedication then adult / teens baptism) and my barbies went by horse and carriage but that was because i didnt own the cool pink barbie beetle!! LOL

It is my son and my nephew. They are in the same class at school and are making their 1st communion together, so having a joint tea aftewards.
We live 4 doors away from each other:eek: and "joint tea" has turned into "joint farce" !

The whole Sacrament part has been replaced with pomp and ceromomy.
Party is at s-i-l house though so can't say too much!

Really tempted to say "sod it" and have our own wee tea but it puts Mark and Gran and Aunts/uncles etc in a bad position. ................and with us all living on the one street...................................well you can imagine:eek:

theres nothing wrong with having a little party it is a celebration after all lyds had a party after her dedication.... well we had some friends and relatives round for a little buffet (ish) lunch but it wasnt a HUGE thing. you should be able to celebrate it however you want too i was just suprised about the hourse and carriage / Limo thing

It's coz it's a joint thing. If it was just me i would have a wee do like I did for Aaron. S-I-L is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only have 6 people coming from "my side" (her words not mine) out of 160 but still have to pay half the cost .
After letting rip on here a couple of day ago I have just struck up the courage to put my foot down and say NO about the REALLY nonsence stuff eg the limo and matching outfits:o :rotfl:
Don't get me wrong I am all for a celebration but........... too much !!!!
Soooooooo nearly opened a bottle of wine and spoiled my Lenten reolution!
(Had a creme egg instead:o )
