Sorry for posting this here as im unsure where to put it but i know you's will help me anyway! I am looking at getting Satelite Tv but not the normal kind. Im after getting the scandinavian chanels so i can watch premiership football. I am clueless on what to do and which method is the cheapest. I believe i require a dish but im unsure on prices. I also believe there is a few alternatives like getting a satelite chip put in my pc?????? I have tried watchin feeds over the net but im not to impressed with connection. ANYONE PLEASE HELP OR ADVISE ME??? Thank you!

  • Have you tried the Techie Stuff board.. I'm sure someone can help you there. Good luck.
    GONE ENGLAND
  • Obviously the legality of this stuff is a grey area but in the UK we are lucky to be close to Europe, there is thousands of channels beamed down from the sky.

Information is thin on the ground, satdudez.org is a good forum. You need to be fairly technical and patient to get it going. You can get PCI cards for your PC, or a 'smart card' programmer to use with a set top box, or even some set top boxes that run linux can have the right software loaded on to them.

You would probably also want to get a motorised satellite dish that can auto-point your dish to the dozen or so interesting satellites around. Expect to pay 300-500 pounds to get set up, and remember things change all the time so the channel you watch today might not be around tomorrow.

By the way you can get premiership sport listings for all satellites from knplogic.com.
  • satdudez will give you all the info you need.

Much cheaper ways of getting the prem football than the scandinavian channels ;)

but yes you will need a motorised dish or at least a selection of fixed ones to keep your options open.
  • Thank you for all the help, so what would you suggest the best / Cheapest way to do this?
  • There was a thread here for a chinese streaming site that has been deleted. A good streaming site will give you the football free of charge on your computer if you have broadband. But I am not sure of the legalities and copyright problems etc .....

  • I have tried and tried getting football on my Pc but it is very unreliable. I feel the best way is to get something more stable but i am unsure what?
  • Then you need to get a satilite tv magazine and invest a few hundred quid on a large motorised dish that will get all the channells you need . OR and this is the good bit ... do like I do and go down the pub to watch it, where the boss has spent the money for you !!!
