Becksevens Surviving Maternity Leave Diary

The title of my diary sounds a little dramatic but basically I am on maternity leave after having my daughter and want to last the whole nine months without running out of money or using my credit card! I made a right hash of it last time so am determined to be wise this time! My ebay stuff is doing well-Isabella oliver top is going for £13 with 8 hours to go and jeans have 4 watchers. Did a shop in Tescos and spend £84-now i'm eating more fruit and veg as part of my diet seem to be spending a fortune but probably is also to do with buying nappies and baby milk and wipes again! Got to go as dd is crying for a feed but I will be back!

Haven't been on for a while but have a good reason-my DD had viral meningitis and we were in hospital for a week while she received treatment. Thankfully it was a mild case and she wasn't that poorly but it was horrible for her to have a drip of intravenus antibiotics when she is so youngs. The nurses were fabulous though. We are now home and I am sooo relieved! Really feel like we need a hols though now so am going to throw myself into entering more competitions!

Glad little one was OK - bet you were terrified - I would have been. Good luck with the challenge you've set yourself.... We accrued lots of new debt on maternity leave- I just wish we'd found this site then but at least we can change things going forward...

  • Hi beckseven

Hope your little one is on the mend now, that must have been so scary for you! I have a young baby and can't imagine how horrible it must have been - sending you hugs (*looks for hugs smiley but fails miserably*)

Good luck on your challenge not to accrue more debt during your M/L - am on M/L myself at the moment and am hoping you'll inspire me! You've done really well on Ebay, I got mounds of stuff here I really should list, hope I do as well as you x

Thanks to everyone for your nice messages. it's lovely to be home again now and never again will i moan about being busy! Spend a huuuuge £107 at tesco's today but did buy a dress(£12!) and 2 chidren's birthday presents and I skipped a week last week because we were in hospital-hubby ate 3 pizzas last week! I've got a preschool committee meeting in the pub at 8pm so ready meals for us tonight-so not oS! must ebay again now to increase the total and not sure how the weight loss will be tomorrow as to say i've eaten erratically in the past week is an understatement!
