Tom! :hello:
How's it going love? Did you get an answer to your credit card question?
I'm still 100% keen on my budget since payday although I keep getting tested! Ended up paying £10 for a take away with two mates on Sat night which I hadn't budgeted for but if I'd been out I could have spent anything up to £100 so in the great scheme of things that was pretty reserved!
Hope you're having a good week!

Hey Ruby,
Yea im not too bad. I kind of got an answer but its ok becuase ive decided that because im usless with money hence being in so much debt at 19 I am going to go on a DMP with CCCS so that I kno i will be out of debt by my birthday next year
As long as you find somewhere else in your budget to cut £10 I don't think it matters too much and like you said better than £100.
I've also started in the £2 savers club up to a mahoosive £10 lol.
Hope things are all good at your end.

If you feel a weak moment, a quick surf on the MSE boards is enough to put you back in the right frame of mind, which normally means keeping your money in your wallet!** Proud to be dealing with my debts **LBM - Jan 2009 _pale_ : £24,802.21 :eek:February 2010 :silenced: : £18,078.47 (not including OD)July 2010

You're so right Goose! Honestly, I am a total MSE bore now and am addicted to the forums - I think of DFW every time I'm about to buy something now. Case in point - haven't been NEAR a clothes shop for a month. This is a seriously big deal for me...x

Hi Tom
Glad that it all starts here - it's quite exciting!
Just another thought (I have these random ones quite alot!). Have you been hit with charges by your bank? If so, you can try and reclaim these. I would suggest having a look at the main pages for some guidance. I think there is a dedicated forum too. You may have to open a separate bank account with another non-linked bank but it may help to get a chunk off that debt.
Good luck

Hey Guys,
If i could be on here 24/7 I would believe me. However I can only access the forums whilst at work and I cannot be trusted with money. So I think that the best plan is to pay my money to one person and then distribute it to my creditors. This way there is no way I can default on it and im very happy with it being that way.
What shall our targets be for April then Ruby?

Oh good idea re the DMP love - definitely a good way of handling it all! I'm OK with my payments every month as they are (hate them obviously but can make them) so I'll stick with the independent route I think. Not debt free until 2013 though!!!
Targets for the month? My biggest target is for this to be the first month in which I don't use credit for anything. I really, really want to end the month with even just 1p in credit in my bank without having used overdraft or CC's for a thing. That's my goal! What's yours?

Im going to go for 15 NSD's. It's a big ask as i have a bit of an addiction to crisp and chocolate but we'll keep that quiet! Thats a good plan that Ruby and I'll be rooting for you!
Yes if you can meet the re-payments then theres no bother. It's just I prefer for things to be done for me so with DMP i'm chuffed with. Fair enough it will wreck my credit rating but im 19 not lookin to buy a house for another few years anyway. so 26-27 sounds like a good plan as i can rebuild my credit file from August next year. Thats the date they said I would be debt free by the way but im determined to make it sooner
URG. Yes at lot ofit was from bank charges and I have sent my letters off and applied for Natwest basic account as the credit history is crap. But thanks for the suggestion.

You have YEARS ahead of you doll, especially as you've taken control now. You should be so proud of yourself - there's not many 19 year olds who would approach this situation so maturely and with such intelligence, let alone even face up to it in the first place. You're a credit, so you are!
Ooh 15 NSDs! Good for you! Am sure you'll smash that (can you buy multipack crisps/choc in the supermarket and just eek them out through the week rather than buying them day by day?). I'm managing about 2 NSDs a week at the mo - I love them (sad).

I'm so glad other people are as sad as me with their NSD's. I see them as mini achievements. It makes the grand scheme of things seem so much less depressing. Am paying my Slimming World subs in bulk now as it's ruining my aim to reach 3 a week!
And I have to agree with you all about the addictiveness of MSE forums. I'm spreading the word far and wide these days.
Long may our new MSE ways reign! xx
