CCA advice

Hi everyonel , I posted this by mistake in someone's thread earlier on.....

Re credit card debt should a standard CCA request letter go to Barclaycard directly, or to Mercers (or Calder Finance who've just appeared on the scene with a letter) ?

  • To CF. I know they are Mercers/Barclaycard but they are the ones in possession of the account now.
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.
  • When did you take your card out? What year?

  • You gonna answer? Taken the trouble to reply to you. Coincidentally, as it also happens I have accounts with these people and spoke to them yesterday. Just curious is all. Because if you don't answer then I am afraid I will have to make 2 plus 2 equal four and do something about it. :)

  • Very well.

Up to you if you do answer but don't kid yourself if you are connected to any of those 3 places that I won't be speaking to someone, and getting you stopped. :)

  • And I know none of that will make sense to anyone, I have a very good reason for asking/posting those things. Particularly, since early this morning and what I sent to someone via the internet. Thinking about wording of certain things for example. ;) But if not applicable - and I'd really like to think 'no, it's utterly random, just randomly posted' except for certain things I noticed. Hope I'm wrong, but there again. :D

  • Sorry- I just went to eat my lunch ! No intention whatsoever of upsetting anyone in the slightest - have lurked for ages and seen all the positive help given here!

Barclaycard circa 20 years ago, and a Mastercard over 10 years ago.

I now have set off to drive 85 miles in a few minutes , so will be unable to see replies until I've driven back later tonight.

I'm sorry , I'm totally at a loss to see what you mean by this? I'm wondering if you think I'm someone else...

Thanks - I was so bemused by your subsequent posts that the CF abbreviation didn't click - it has now!
  • The card in a nice blue envelope sent by Calder Finance saying that they would make a doorstep call did not give an address ( only their registered office , and that they were Mercers trading as Calder Finance).

I've sent the CCA request to Mercers at their PO Box 55 Liverpool address.
