Dont they make you laugh!?

Ive just had a couple of letters from creditors (dont think they have received communication from OR yet). One from a solicitor for a credit card company dont think I can name them but think along the lines of "one - capital!" Any way I owed nearly £600 and they "understand people can have financial difficulties...." and "we are happy to be able to offer you the following options to settle your account in full"
1. pay £297 within 7 days... and settle you account in full
2. pay £110 per month for 3 months....
3. pay £40 per month until account is settled

Right.... so after threatening me with court/debt collectors/ etc they can suddenly half what I owe them! Its ironic as this is the company that pushed me over the edge and convinced me to apply for bankruptcy. I do feel a bit of a bitter sweet victory.

The other one was from a catolouge company "wittleloods" I was paying them £1 token payments and they slapped on 40% interest! I do not understand the logic in companys that do this - they are knowingly putting people in to more and more debt. I'd be livid if I wasnt br - but as it is I just feel sick that they are doing this to poor souls everywhere.

This is an excellent post that trolls and "dissers" should be made to read before they have a go at us people who file for BR.

When I look back at the interest I was being charged on my loans and c/c's it is horrifying. Profiteering on the backs of people who cannot afford to pay.

It also amazes me how credit limits are raised when someone is continually making minimum payments each month - a clear sign that, financially, all is not well.

Even after the OR has contacted them, you still get silly letters.

I just had one from Egg telling me they had been contacted by the OR but that they were still seeking payment in full of the account and that they reserve the right to contact me further regarding this!

I am just going to let them waste their time and money on pointless letters because it won't have any effect on me.

Don't forget to shred it and recycle it and the more the merrier as they are wasting money on a lost cause, also if you recycle it I may not get made redundant again as I start back again at the recycling centres again on monday:j

Nine months into my BC im still getting letters bouncing from DCA to a Solicitor. they are rather threatening me with court and possible BC or offerring me the same as the OP (different ammounts though!). I just ignore them now, I sent about 4 of them to the OR, decided it was pointless sending the rest so I just file em with the rest of my BC stuff.

    Hi TB,

What a tough day ...I know how difficult it is to cease trading...not from a viewpoint of running the Company but my experience comes from the fall out it brings to employees/relative & your customers.

In a previous role I have worked with many key officials (Chairman/Directors etc)who have had to wind up their Companies & they would sometimes openly cry when going through the process...your Company was your `baby`, your lifestyle & your way of supporting your family. When that fails it is devastating.

So I hope you are Ok....keep that ipod tunred up Honey !!!! Whatever your next step I wish you the best of luck & respect for knowing when to draw that line in the sand.

    RARADEL -

Good post !! personally I am starting to see an increase in the threatening letters. It is very uncomfortable at the moment & I admit that I have dreaded going to the post box outside in case there is a letter telling me how I HAVE TO PAY in 7 DAYS...or else they`ll send someone round.

....mind you if I knew when they were coming I would get the kettle on & maybe bake cake ready or something!!!!...bit of company would be nice :D:D ....at least they would be in no doubt that I have no money whatsoever!!!
