Selling on ebay

Ive seen that man on the news whos made quite a bit doing this. How would you do this like he did, i know you can sell things on ebay but he did it as a bussiness, anyone done this, cheers.:beer:

    As I understand it, you can sell off your own used stuff that you no longer want without registering as a business... but if you buy stuff in with the specific intention of selling it on, then you have to register with the tax man etc.

    I saw the newspaper article. He started by selling mobile phones and accessories to pals and then went with the same sort of stuff on Ebay and expanded via computer bits there.

    It took him TEN YEARS to get where he is now. He did it through hard work and perseverance, the same way anybody achieves anything worth doing.

    I doubt anybody starting from scratch now, with the current chokehold ebay has put on sellers, would be able to achieve this in a similar fashion. It is a very different game nowadays.

    Yeah if you want to earn lots, youve gotta put the effort in. So you personally dont think selling on ebay now would be a viable living option.

    I think you would need a very niche product. You would be better off starting your own website to sell your goods, and learning SEO to drive traffic to your site.
