Hmm...What is happening here then

http://www.24dash.com/news/Housing/2009-03-17-Prices-rising-at-top-and-bottom-of-UK-housing-market

http://uk.reuters.com/article/wtMostRead/idUKLNE52F00N20090316

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/housebuilding-guru-says-bottom-of-the-property-market-has-been-reached-1645222.html

House price rises at top and bottom, house price rises of 0.9%, falls of only 9% YOY and the halifax reporting January increases. Housing guru has called the bottom, QE in motion, so on and on

Not looking good for these 70% falls, it's all lies i tell you;)

Glad that it's not all doom and gloom then, light at the end of that tunnel perhaps?

Even by your bullish standards, mitchaa, this is pretty weak reasoning.

9% off asking prices is a nonsense. What does it actually mean? Nothing. It has nothing to do with what prices houses actually sell at. All it reflects is that sellers have finally accepted prices are lower, and adjusting their asking price accordingly. What they sell for - if they sell - is another issue altogether.

The same article talks about listings being down 57%, which suggests sellers are resigned not to selling.

As for the Berkeley guy, it's been dealt with elsewhere. Im sure even you can accept that a prediction by a guy with a vested interest is no more than a PR stunt, which has no basis in reality.

Top and low end prices rising. Perhaps, but how much of the market does that comprise? Without more information, it's meaningless.

I agree but if the bears can post continual doom and gloom nonsense, so can the bulls with their green shoot articles;)

The board is getting a little tiresome, where's NDG when we need her:D

Even if mitchaa's post is nonsense, so is Macaque's "Respected Researcher predicts another 55% fall" thread!

True . . what with self-interested and selective posting of newstories (as facts) by the bulls and bears, and dervish's rabid posturings, it's all getting slightly tedious.
