No, he should say sorry because he has ballsed so much up.0 -
Brown has consistently done all he can to encourage debt and discourage saving. Tax-free savings limits have been reduced substantially, house price inflation removed from the BoE's inflation target to keep rates low, and it has been made easier to run up irresponsible debts, then escape repaying them. The number of personal insolvencies was at record levels in the UK long before it became apparent there were problems in the USA. There were problems with record debt levels here first. That's just private debt - let us not forget Brown was running up huge budget deficits during the boom, while telling us he'd abolished boom and bust (Was he actually naive enough to think he could abolish the economic cycle?)
Brown has much for which to apologise, but even if he does - and he has not come close as yet - it won't be enough if he doesn't also accept responsibility for the mistakes he made. Apologising for something he claims is not his fault would be pointless. I'd rather he either held his hands up completely, or stuck to the delusional lines he has continued to trot out since the run first started on Northern Rock.Saved over £20K in 20 years by brewing my own booze.

I think this latest attempt will simply reinforce the view that Brown is pathalogically incapable of apologising
Just like his scumbag mate Blair. Never apologise (except on behalf of others, carefully levering responsibility off your own shoulders), never explain and grab every directorship going.0 -
Brown is without doubt the most intelligent Labour PM ever.....by some distance.
Only a sublimely intelligent socialist would achieve effective nationalisation of the banks, and run up a debt mountain so large they will have to cancel the new Trident 3 times over.
I bet Neil Kinnock is green with envy.0 -

It seems to me that this is half hearted and that Crash still does not understand the fundamental reasons why the UK is so badly affected. He still wants to stand on his soap box and claim that Britain is the innocent victim to a global financial crisis.
I seen the title and i actually thought our leader had made a public apology to our very own sortofok.0
