Ruby - I've just opened a Halifax basic account (mainly for the Visa Electron card so I can get cheap flights without the credit card charges, but also in case my main bank decide to get funny with my overdraft!) and I didn't have to deposit anything to open it. Err but just read you don't want HBOS..:o How about the Co-op Bank? It might tell you on their website if you need to deposit anything?

Ooh, found the co-op bank cashminder, open with a pound, get a debit card and can set up dds from it. Sounds good.

Just about to cut up my credit cards, not any real purpose to it, but it's gonna make me feel so much better right now.

    morning all!

Feel like I've done a whole day already and it's only 11.30! Done 2 lots of washing, been to teach a class and taken Charlie to the park.

Have my second probation observation tonight so need to make sure everything is tickety boo in my paperwork.

Pooky - don't worry about the chat, nothing to add etc - I would never run/jog/walk more than is completely necessary, I don't have children and i'm never likely to. I diet on and off but as it's more 'off' than 'on' I don't tend to say much because I know it's more than likely going to be back on again with a few weeks :o But hey, I'm sure I bang on about something that bores the bits off everyone! :rotfl:

Suppose I should breathe and calm down. Today it's all kinda hit me how bad I'm letting things get. So I've decided to get myself a basic bank account and get myself on JSA or possibly take up that offer for income support from the incapacity people (they sent me for a medical a while back for my leg, I passed it, so I'm now entitled to income support apparently *shrug*). So I need to know who is connected to HBOS and Capital One, and how much deposit I'd have to put down.

You could get a Co-op cashminder account I don't think they are linked to anyone, fermi will probably know:rolleyes:

If you are entitled to the benefits get claiming and see about getting any back dated:confused:
