re the smear tests, i got one a few weeks ago, the smear itself was okay... but my face must've been a picture when she them stuck 2 (yes! 2!!) fingers up and pushed down on my belly! made me feel rather sick actually!

Apparently she was feeling my cervix... and she hadn't even offerred to buy me a drink!

I'm just glad she didn't don a big rubber glove up to her elbow!!

But seriously after having had kids or having had sex, it's really nothing to stress about at all..... and everyone should get it done regularly.

I got my all clear letter too this week, which is nice! Slightly apprehensive opening the envelope to be honest....

I think Jade Goody has done some good is levels of screening have risen as a result of her profile...

The last one I had they needed a longer thingamyjig than usual as I was a funny shape apparantly. I did get slightly worried when the nurse put a Miners Helmet with light on:eek:

  • Ok, I'm back to make a grovelling apology..... I only wrote the s-word in small so that it wasn't too gross.... and now its topic of the day :D So apologies to Pepe, Len and any other blokes reading! (but Len, barium enema - ouch yuk ouch! )
Wasn't too bad actually, perhaps I've lost feeling since having DS!?! I know its not nice, but it is a must.... so anyone that's due one - get booking!

As for the dentist... check up on Thursday for me:eek: Its only a check up, but I hate the dentist.... would defo rather have aforementioned medical procedure!

I don't think they 'hurt' but personally, having a cold metal instrument shoved up me wazoo and then a tongue depressor 'scrapped' all over my cervix, well frankly, it's just not nice!

  • :smileyheaOh you lovely lot! :grouphug:

Where is Linda to kick some dentist-appointment-making-butt? Seriously people don't leave it too long. I was not in any pain but because I hadn't been in *ahem* a while, an infection that could have been sorted easily ended up taking SEVEN hours, yes that's SEVEN of root canal work. My two front teeth and being practically rebuilt. Now I am signed up to a monthly scheme that covers check-ups I have no excuse! and it's MSE as it saves me 10% on the horrendous fees! But what choice do I have, that are my front blardy teeth. I am awating two beautiful veneers from Switzerland  but will have to chop up apples for the rest of my life... I'm practically a celeb!
DD - it says something that you can recognise the signs and are trying to stop yourself from going under... when i was depressed, it was absolutely the last thing i thought it could be.. everything was down to me being useless, stupid or whatever... anyone who tried to tell me that is was depression was talking Shiite, until i myself realised that it probably was and dealt with it... so you may not think you're coping but for what it's worht, the fact that you know it is a good thing....

    How Mr El!?!?
You're right Maz, I think I have lived with depression my entire life really and when it was BAAAAD then yes it's that black hole of worthlessness and I think I can pick up on the beginnings of it these days - keeping busy is the main thing but you run the risk of burning out. It's a fine balance... I just get caught up in self-image and feeling not good enough for anything. Which is silly - I got 90% for my first assignment! And I am over the moon. But immediately I think, well I will never get anything like that again! But that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, and I have not really hit the books properly since getting my result... speaks for itself doesn't it.

Do you mean my DS :embarasse he is getting lovelier by the day :smileyhea he has started to give me proper cuddles and snuggle into me when I read him a story at bedtime :D poor mite has an awful teething rash on his cheeks though :( and now we have the continuing dilemma on having another one or not  I wish it was a simple choice, seems to be for most people. Enough about that though :)
