There is lots out there at the minute, seems to have been a big rise in this kind of info. I checked a little time ago but was suprised most are 3 mths behind. Is this still the case?

No surprise. They rely on Land Registry figures, so are always going to be 3 months behind.

When a house is sold, the information about the sale/price/address etc doesn't have to be back with the LR immediately. I can't remember if it's a 3 month cut off, or 6 months... so, then the info goes back to LR, but it still needs to be put onto the system.

The information published for free is done in a batch once a month, keep an eye out in the last couple of days of the month and it might just be early. The last update was for data on the system to the end of January 2009. So yes it does lag.

But, it's free and it's available. This information wasn't even available a few years back - and those that had it charged for it so it was only businesses that would be buying it and having access to it.

From memory, nethouseprices were the first lot to make it available online for free.
