The fact that you sent one e-mail does not mean your creditor received it. You might have typed the e-mail address incorrectly, you might have been given an old (incorrect) e-mail address to use, their inbox may have been full and it bounced, etc. I agree with you about phoning, but that is what recorded delivery post is there for. Proof to protect you, as much as for their benefit. ;)

If you owe money it is your responsibility to pay as per the agreement, or at the very least keep in regular contact. If you lent someone money you would be pretty annoyed if you had to chase them and they moved without telling you! People have got CCJs in their absence through not keeping in contact with creditors, I would not wish this to happen to you.

    HI

    Thanks for your reply.

I agree that if someone owed me money i wold chase them. That is what i am doing as they never paid their Debt to Barclays. I was the one who got stuffed!!

I took the plunge anyway and was allowed a phone line. I also took it upon my self to go to Experian and re register there to find they already had my details all updated. There is no trace f any CCJ, or bad debt on my record and ive a credit score of 889 out of 999.

If they come to me asking for payment i will gladly pay them once ive tracked down the scheming low down rat who owes me the money!!!!! but having experience of DRA's they can come to me.

Thanks all for your help and advise.

    Hi
have you checked the other credit reference agencies?

If this debt is not on any of them, then the debt is almost certainly statute barred.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
