Scottish Brides - Charity Bridalwear event - possible bargains to be had

Read this in the paper today and thought it might interest some of you! I am toying with going - I really want my 'own' dress but I know if I saw a stunner I'd soon change my mind!

http://www.kilmarnockstandard.co.uk/lifestyle/lifestyle-news-kilmarnock/2009/02/13/donate-your-old-wedding-dress-for-troon-charity-event-81430-22899668/

Donate your old wedding dress for Troon charity event

BRIDES are being asked to dust down their old wedding dresses and donate them for a special charity wedding fair.
And women who donate dresses are being urged to don them for one last time and model them, before giving them to the Butterfly Trust, a cystic fibrosis charity, who will sell them on the day.
The Wedding Fair is taking place on Sunday, June 21, at Troon’s Marine Hotel.
There will be many wedding businesses exhibiting at the event to help the happy couple make their big day special, as well as two catwalk shows featuring gorgeous bridal gowns courtesy of CuCo Couture, kilts from Debonair and mother of the bride and groom outfits from Debenhams.
Cassie Watson, community fundraiser for the Butterfly Trust, said: “This is a great chance for ladies to dig out their wedding dress and donate it for a very good cause. I have no doubt that there will be a lot of brides to be out there who will appreciate this and will snap the dresses up for a bargain price, so I would like to ask all the women out there who still have their dress to get in contact with us.
“By doing that, you will be helping the Butterfly Trust to continue their essential support to people with Cystic Fibrosis and their families.
“We thought it would be more interesting and fun if the ladies who donate their dresses show them off for once last time and have a chance to say their final goodbye to their beautiful dress.”

Wow, what a great idea. I might consider donating mine to it, although I won't have been married very long and might not have decided what to do with the dress.
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!
