How successful has anyone been claiming back fee charges?

As this is something I may to consider now. Reclaim the late payment charges which have amassed on my arrears, increasing the debt(s) significantly. Just wondering. Is it an easy process and has anyone here been successful?
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Prior to the court case, people were being very successful I believe. I think all claims are on hold at the moment pending the OFT decision, but it is probably still worth putting your claim in now, because you can only go back 6 years (so better to do 6 years back from now, rather than 6 years back from some future date....iyswim).

The success of any claims not yet paid out will depend on the OFT decision.

I'm not an expert on this though so hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I eventually got £2,500 from HSBC (Before the OFT hold) and am currently waiting for around £750 from Lloyds, althogh I reckon Ill see only about half of that, as Im sure the OFT will say that a fee off £12 is acceptable (The same as CC's) and They will only offer me what Ive been charged over and above that.

As snaggles said though, its best to get your claim in now, to get yourself in the queue to be dealt with, for when the court case is over.

    Best of luck though
  • Thanks for the replies. Mind's reeling a little from today's antics with debt so in a kind of 'andrenalin/panic mode' right now looking at things to give me some hope if you see what I mean? Just had a quick look at the debt relief order that is coming in April. Just options, really.

  • Thanks. Will have to look into doing it on some of my debts I think, if only to reduce them. Some don't have CCAs, some do etc. Not in anyway trying to avoid debt - hell, if I had the money I'd be off tomorrow to clear them all, but sadly I don't for a variety of deeply complicated issues - but seeking other avenues available to me when the time comes to do so. Trying to halt certain things but finding it really hard. Feels like someone's ripped my chest open today TBH, brought everything back I'd prefer to forget about. So, just going through things, options etc.
