according to the government the csa and its money from errant fathers helps to addresse the issue of major child poverty in britian
if there is so much child poverty in the uk do you think its right for the government and charitys to donate millions of pounds to other countrys. or is it just fallacy that child poverty exists in britian, as if child poverty is real here we should address that first shouldnt we ?
are the government really telling the truth ?

In reality yes the government should be tackling child poverty here in the uk first, and yes it does exist, but lets be realistic.............it doesnt make news headlines does it.
Im sick of hearing about the economic downturn, and the word recession etc etc, but please someone remind me how much was raised for comic relief on friday night???
Hmmmmm that money could help the people who have lost jobs, and lost their homes etc etc here in the UK. ggrrrrr rant over.0 -
I agree people in Africa do need aid. But what is the saying....Charity begins at home?
I thought it was kind of Gordon Brown to give Comic Relief £200K of our money, would that not pay for 10 nurses in the UK for a year?
There are lots of people in Britain that are also in need of aid and once we sort out our own house by all means send money where ever you want.
There will be people who argue it's perhaps their own fault, but it's not the childs fault it's parents are scum and would rather spend money on drugs than food and clothing for them.
Next time you give money to a foriegn country, just ask yourself how many people in your town, never mind the country, are living in poverty or are not living to standards you see fit.
Most people, including myself won't see or know about the worst of it. But look at rented/council accommodation thats riddled with damp, would you bring your new baby home to that? Just one minor example.0 -

Speaking of child poverty getting addressed here, has your husband managed to get over his 'depression yet' and put his hand in his pocket for his kids with his ex? No, thought not.0 -

How does that work then?
Surely errant fathers are called such because they don't pay money towards their childrens upkeep? We could all argue why should we subsidise those who chose not to pay for their own children0 -
This isn't the board for this kind of discussion. Jacklink is a known troll and likes to stir up trouble on this board. There is Discussion Time for this kind of thread.0

Hi Jacklink
I thought you might like to have read of the MoneySavingExpert.com Forum Rules:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/faq.html?faq=new_faq_item#faq_new_rules
These state:
"remember this is a privately owned site. Posting is a privilege, not a right. Any posts or anyone that threatens the site’s resources or makes it a worse place to be will be stopped appropriately solely at the discretion of MoneySavingExpert.com with or without reasons given."
You might also be interested in the MoneySavingExpert.com TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE, especially section 9. Chat Forum/Message Board/Comms with other users:

These state:

and

Actually, no you don't have freedom of speech on a privately owned board. The owner is entitled to remove/lock any post he/she see's fit, because it belongs to them and they are allowing you to post here.
If you want freedom of speech set up and pay for your own message board, where you can say when you like and be sued for your comments should be people choose to do so.
Crossed posts

There is no real child poverty in this country as we have a very generous benefit system. Those children that do live in poverty in this country do so because their parents put their own needs(drink, drugs etc) before their children. No matter how much money the goverment throw at them they are always going to spend the money on themselves and not their children. Personally the goverment should do what america does and that is not hand out money but food vouchers etc.
Of course we should give money to countries like africa that have REAL poverty0 -
Jacklink where is the CSA question, it has nothing to do with this board you are after a discussion about CSA and of course this thread will end up in Discussion time.
Where it doesn't take long to disappear because you never discuss you post rubbish and run a mile :rolleyes:Hit the snitch button!member #1 of the official warning clique.
