Feel so impatient

Ever since I registered on here, I have been coming on MSE/DFW several times a day since and feel that I know where I'm going with sorting myself out. But I feel so impatient, I want to see a difference now! I keep checking on my ebay items to see if there are any bids (none at the moment) and feel frustrated that I can't make a dramatic difference now to my debt and overdraft - oh yes, forgot to add that to my debts, will amend signature.
My idea for proofreading isn't going to happen now (wont bore you with the ins and outs) - so will have to look elsewhere for extra income.
I am being good and not spending like I use to and trying to save my £2 coins, but I want to see a difference now! I'm not normally so impatient.
Does anyone else feel the same.

I know what you mean.
Every month waiting for payday so I can change my signature.
it's a big come down from spending what you want when you want (thats how I've found it anyway).

Hi Miffi,
You know from reading my other post that's its not been an easy week for me - I absolutely empathise with how you are feeling. I think mine is also down to a bad case of PMS and just generally feeling bit down about it raining all the time.
I am like you - I have had 17 items listed on amazon since the start of February and not one of them has sold - I think I will drop the prices. I am also a big believer in marketing - everyday I go back and revise my eBay items and make them sound a bit better. I put in words like LOW PRICE, FUNKY, COOL, BARGAIN and put in as much information as possible. I know it takes ages but it seems to be worth it.
I wish I knew other ways to make money to tell you (as I would also be doing them too!) I'm also feeling impatient and I feel that everyone will be looking at my sig thinking gosh - when is she going to make a dent in that debt! Of course, they are not - it just feels like that.
I get so much from this website - from the comments, suggestions and support - just keep coming and keep posting Miffi. I hear ya!

Hi Miffi
I think this is totally natural, debts mount up very quickly, and take a long time to pay off. We are paying off our highest interest debts which happen to be our smallest ones so I felt the same a few weeks ago as our largest and scariest loan isn't moving downwards much. I pay cc via the internet, I now instead of paying one big payment a month, pay a bit each week so get a the thrill of it every week and it keeps me to my budget, no more spending on payday and being skint the rest of the month. I also do loads of long term planning this time in 6, 12 months etc our debt will be...it keeps me motivated. You've done so much already in a short space of time and remember your debt is now heading in the right direction. :T0 -
Hi miffi i sometimes feel i'm wishing my life away!!!
i look forward to cc statments coming so that i can clear a bit more, whereas once i used to dread it.
But coming on here helps a lot as you realise your not the only one!!! :money:
Am the same with ebay forever checking to see if any bids!! am driving OH up the wall0 -
Thanks everybody! It feels good to know that other people understand. I suppose I'm determined to get myself straight and feel frustrated that I can't see huge changes now - although of course my attitude to money has changed greatly. This debt I have all be it small, has made me grow up a bit and hopefully that I will never get myself in a pickle again and only spend within my means.
For the time being I will carry on with my ebay postings, I've decided to only now go on ebay if I'm posting an item not to look at my items for sale as they have a few days left to sell anyway.0 -
Count me in! I check my spreadsheet/bank accounts/credit cards etc etc every few days! Of course nothing changes in that time but I find myself constantly thinking about being debt free, when will that be, how will I achieve it? etc. I have 2 more payments of a 5 year loan to make and I had to stop myself from paying it out of my overdraft just cos I wanted it gone! That will free up £275 pm as from April but that amount then goes towards paying off other debt
Never mind....I'll get there in the end...I just have to learn not to be quite as obsessive about it

I am the same I actually look forward to payday even though I virtually have nothing left after all DDs have left account, but I like it cos I know however slow it is I am knocking the debt down bit by bit.
I have replied to your family and Ironic threads but for some reason they are not showing up as having responses - but the messages are there.

I know exactly what you mean. I've been running debts up since I was 18. that's 4 years worth of debt. Inside it's obvious it's not gonna go away overnight. Just keep battling on with it... keep a book with details of your balance on each card 9I do this) and when the balance gets close enough to zero that you can make a big payment and clear it in one shot, do it. Then you can put a line through the creditor. I find that putting lines through items in a list is a big moral boost. I do this with jobs at work tooLightbulb moment, Feb 2006
