Hello
I called nationwide to pay off a loan early and then changed my mind, for some reason they got mixed up and sent me a letter which said ‘your loan has been paid in full and your account closed’, as im skint I thought great
but they have now wrote to me again to advise I am in arrears, I called them back and need to pay the last 3 months on my next payday.
I was wondering that because they have sent me this letter can I now legally say to them I am not paying or will they just send the debt collectors? Is this legal?
Thanks in advance for any info

sorry to break the bad news - you are going to have to pay it! perhaps you can speak to them and spread out the repayments so that you don't have to pay 3 months in one go, but that's about it0

Even if i have the letter to state they have closed my account?0 -
It was clearly an error, and you knew it was, so I don't think you've got a leg to stand on unfortunately.
I would have thought you should be able to come to some agreement about putting 3 months on the end of the loan though.Wedding 5th September 20150 -
You can't rely on a simple administrative mistake to get out of paying what you owe. Why should you?I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
