in arrears, contacted the council and they said i had to pay £240 a month to stop it going to court! i couldnt pay that and offered £50 as that is all i can manage! they rejected this and are sending for a liablity order to take 5% off my wages which would be £36.
how can they take me to court when i have made an offer? and d/d and they couldnt as it wasnt for the £240 they wanted!

Hi
Are you paying any other debts? because if you are, you need to stop and to sort out the CT promptly.
COuncils are vetted by the Government as to how efficent they are at collecting CT, so there is a big incentive to send any CT that is not paid to the court for a liability order before the year end.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
