Blindman you obviously haven't seen what's gone on with genuine companies posting on here - Nads's post was purely a polite heads up - I see no police-like activity; not sure where you saw it either?

Your lack of politeness is not endearing!

I'll fill you in anyway - companies register on here as their user name, post a job (for which we're all grateful) and then some unknown person (savemoney I think their name was, last time around) comes along, reports the user for advertising and then disappears.

We all suggested that these companies just register as an inconspicuous name and post the alerts as any of us would, so they don't get reported.

Nads was being helpful and doesn't deserve the resident Meldrew's talking down to. At last count, I'm sure you were no more important (certainly less friendly) than nads, so I have no idea why you feel you can just shoot people down for literally nothing.

    NADS

(You seem to like large RED letters)

What is your problem with the genuine work available post made by Qdos
    in the Work Available thread

And who the hell made you head of the Alert Thread police
BTW your post was "chatty" and not Work Available

I think you may mean me, who likes the big red letters. I made myself "Alert Thread Police" to try and keep it useful to us all.

Nads didn't have a problem, s/he stated that s/he didn't. A PM to the poster in question might have been more effective though.

oh dear blidnman, you seem to have got the wrong end of the stick.

No one, IMHO, considers themselves to me the post-police but it's always helpful that we can be all contribute and be effective in gaining working by splitting the discussion from the work opportunities. This can be seen throughout the forums especially in threads such as Tesco and Boots bargain alerts and discussion only thread.

My post was merely to support the poster and provide a headsup to QDOS so our resident "abuse reporters" don't get the post removed for merely trying to give someone the opportunity to earn some extra cash.

    Thanks for the explanation.
Brief reply not meant to be rude, RSI stops lengthy posts at time.

So the problem is the board admin then

Nads reply to Qdos first post hardly encourages them (they are one of the better Co's BTW).

Nads I'm man enough to apologize to you for the Police Action slur
UKmonkey by his own admission is guilty of that.

What I found annoying was that QDOS, who are a great company to work for, gets told off for their FIRST posting which was a genuine alert + your post just triggers another WA false alarm.

If some dork posts inappropriate stuff on the WA thread, then just PM them with the error of their ways.

I'm not really sure how else I could have replied without sounding like a desperate banshee.

QDOS is not a 5 year old kid that needs to be moulded. They know MS inside out I felt it was important to advise them in frank way.

Whoa, hang on - I do!

    I AM THE LAW!

    So don't mess, ok?

(otherwise I'll run off into my corner and cry)
    and yes, I'm joking!

Yeah nads, blindman has the nads to apologise! hehe!

I was joking, kinda. It enrages me when I'm frantically clicking into the alerts thread window I've got open and refreshing it, only to find something other than an alert!

+1. Like I said, not crime of the century, and nads is a very regular contributor here, but yes, a PM was more appropriate IMHO. But I'm a relative newbie around these parts, so who cares what I think?! :rotfl:

"dork" - now there's a word I've not heard for a lot of years!
