I had to shop two bookies for RE today. Wish I hadn't bothered. The experience was horrendous. I did go dressed in trackie bottoms and a t-shirt so as to look the part though!
Completing the reports is a nightmare for such a paltry fee
Leave them all for me - I'm not proud & I won over £100 on one of my bets last year :j, am expecting to be sacked from them soon though, just like the stamp jobs :mad:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I didn't even consider those ones - mainly because they expect you to sit in there for 15 mins, and I honestly could not imagine any less pleasant experience than sitting in a bookie for 15 mins!
How's this for a "less pleasant experience".? MS the council shop to explain that your elderly neighbour has cockroaches. The member of staff tries to stifle a laugh, when handing you a urine sample bottle, explaining that you have to catch the blighter alive, and stuff it into the said bottle, whilst looking you up and down, thinking it's really yourself you are talking about, and what a dirty hovel you must live in.We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.0 -

LOL!How embarrassing! I always feel a berk in the stamp shops when I have to say I'm on benefits. As soon as you say it you can feel the people behind you staring and judging!
I like the bookies I must say; it's like another world in there. The regulars are so funny and you see them set up for the day with their racing post, cup of tea etc on the narrow table. I don't mind going there for 15 mins, I have a look around first of all then take a seat and make myself comfortable. I do the scenario question and loos 2/3 mins before my 15 mins is up.0 -
I tend to only do the Bookies jobs if I can get 2 or 3 on the same day, you can usually cut and paste 75% of the first report into the 2nd and 3rd visits and voile, they are much more viable to do!
Speaking of supermarkets, who does the Big Yellow Male Dancers one, I've heard that the small blue supermarket who recently bought up the small seasonal field chain are done by ESA? ...0 -
Exactly! There were very few people in the shop. I had to endure 15 mins of dog racing and a disgruntled punter.
I was shocked when someone came into the shop and placed a bet for their dad. £100 on a certain team winning a match. I checked the results when I got home and the team lost! Twas an eye-opener if nothing else!
Must admit I never stay in for 15 mins , although obviously my report says I do. It used to be marginally better, but now they've reduced the amount you can bet by £1, it's hardly worth bothering, so think I'll give these ones up.0 -
I'd like to know this too! Also, can someone tell me who shops the posh supermarket that's two letters of the alphabet?
not sure who you mean by this, unless it's the St Michael dept store? (OK, showing my age here too! - Loved the Lorraine Chase one - got it straightaway - so now you all now I'm at least 40!!)0 -
The bookies are always easy money, plus the chance of a win always helps. The roulette machines in store are also a good way to waste 15 minutes and I always come out a few quid up.0

RE have reduced the payment by £2, but the questionnaire has lost 100 questions so it's actually better value per se, plus it's only 15 mins instore rather than 30.0
