Hi mighty sheep and welcome,
Open your co-op account as soon as you like - it is BR friendly and it will give you the chance to get your direct debits set up and any income paid into it.
Only use it for the day to day living expenses before BR, don't build up a slush fund and make sure it has a zero balance on the actual day. This prevents the OR from treating any balance as a cash asset.
The accounts are almost never frozen and continue to operate as normal during and after BR.
Good Luck

If timing is such that you can open it straight after court then this is preferable.. there's been a couple of people here in Brighton who have had their accounts 'frozen'. If you open it before then you have to put it on your forms so there is always a chance of an over zealous OR taking an interest!
Saying that though most people who have opened them before have been ok (might just be a Brighton thing
) :hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0
