                    Please can someone help me.
I have an ongoing dispute going with T-Mobile. I had my phone stolen on a night out in Decemember 2007 I did not realise until the morning after and until I could get to work at 8am I could not report it. In this time my phone was used and a £400 bill was run up!!!
I contacted T-Mobile and they agreed with my friend to half the bill. I received a letter to this affect no where on the letter did it say I needed to contact T-Mobile or a time frame to do so.
I need to admit at this time me and money did not go well I have alot of debts and was NOT quick to pay to be honest completely forgot about it!! Then in May 2008 my mum called me to say for the last month she had been receiving calls for me she had stated time and again I did not live there and whoever was calling never explained who they were. They were calling her about 2-3 times a day at this point and she was quite upset although I am only 26 I must point out my mum is 73!!
I contacted this company who said I owed £400 I realised what it was and said I had a letter saying the bill would be halved they said if I sent this in they would honour it and I needed to pay £202.96 to clear the debt. I paid £100 at this time and arranged to pay the rest the next month. I also sent a copy of the letter by post and email.
Unfortunately I broke my wrist in this time and work 3 jobs one of which is in a pub which meant I could not work there and was unable to pay the other half. I contacted the debt company and explained and was informed I could pay the next month they deny this.
I then had what looked like Bailiffs at my door I did not open and called my sister for help. She contacted the debt company who agreed with her that if she paid £102 and again we sent a copy of the letter the debt would be cleared. She wrote a hand written letter to which I have a copy of and we sent a check and a copy of my letter of to the company.
I then had the same debt company call me again a week later saying the letter had not been received my sister called them explaining they had cashed the check so they must be in reciept of the letter and told me not to worry anymore.
Then a solicitors contacted me I sent all details to them but T-Mobile are claiming extra charges had been levied to the account before June 2008 and these need to be paid including what's left of the bill. I sent all details, letters etc to the solicitors confirming that the debt company had not only agreed with myself but to my sister that if £202 was paid this would clear the debt this was in June so after all this so called extra charges were placed.
To cut it short they are taking me to court I cannot afford to counter sue but have submitted a defence in January. I have been to citizens advise who believe I have a strong defence.
The thing is I have not heard anymore since just from the solicitors who offered me a settlement of £206 which I rejected. But in the meantime I have a new job working on cruise ships which means I am leaving on the 28th March and will not be very contactable for at least 6 months.
I called the court who said I should wait till the last moment well I have 2 weeks left and a week of that is training so am not around. What do I do??
Can someone represent me who is not a solicitor?
Can they just go by my written defence?
What if I lose, how do I arrange payments?
I am really, really poor and cannot afford a solicitor I am going to work on cruise ships because it involves free food and accomadation more than anything else and I want to pay all my debts back home there are ALOT!!
PLEASE can someone help me please??????

I would phone the court again and say that you still haven't heard anything. And check it out with the CAB they might be able to help. I am guessing your thought is for your sister to go to court on your behalf? I guess that may be ok but again check with the court.
And good luck with paying the other debts back. BUT make sure you tell them that you are going on a contract as then they know not to hassle your mum. And make sure that you have direct debits set up to pay the minimum off each debt. At least then your have the minimum bases covered.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
