Agree with you chucky. I would have had little confidence in any of the parties to have made serious provisions for an economic down turn. The fact that GB said he had brought an end to boom and bust had me thinking at the time. Surely he didn`t think he was an economic Canute. History provides, as it rolls on and on, that all things economic are cyclic. Imo, Brown carried on the path that was started by Thatcher. The effects of that were pretty grim in the early 90`s.

My particular anger is based on the fact that we were well warned in advance that the brown stuff would hit the fan. Many books have been published on the subject earlier on this decade, had anyone bothered to read them.

Me too, hence why now instead of denying it could ever happen and that it's simply hilarious to think it could, he seems to be taking issue with my happiness in the title?

He takes issue with anyone who disagrees. I've just put him on ignore and don't read his useless drivel.

i don't think we are or going to be in any sort of depression.

if we were, you wouldn't be that happy, unless you're a real weirdo ;).
You would certainly be feeling it both economically and socially.

I find this thread weird because I read this morning that asian stock markets has risen overnight because the fear of a 30's type depression has diminished and sure enough the FTSE (at the monent) is up over 2%

so tell me Wookie boy - where have i taken offence to anyone who i disagree with. i've posted my point of view and that's it.

am i not allowed to do this or is this a Zimbabwe type state where we are not allowed to put our points of view forward. maybe that's what you're used to; that's you're problem if that's the case.

from you're own admission you have issues as you are unemployed and this isn't the first time that you have been made redundant recently. i feel for you as you're life isn't really going as you'd like it.

you're outlook to the world and life isn't great at the moment for you so please don't take it out on everyone else.

i'm not denying it won't be the case about a depression - just don't believe it will happen. he wouldn't have made a tstement like that if we were going that way.

the FTSE will factor in the unemployment numbers that are coming out this week but it's still over 2% up.

there are also retail numbers out this week for some companies - surely that is also factored in but still the FTSE positive.

    LOL!

YOU responded to my answer!?! How can I not have answered when you conversed with me about my answer!?

You keep telling me what I mean. You keep telling me what I'm implying by your twisted take on the subject. That, I can handle. But telling me I didnt answer, when you discussed my answer with me, is going to far chuckles!
